|Example Interpretive Sessions
Here are a couple of typical scenarios:
Example 1: An appointment is set at 8:00 a.m. with Dr. Reynolds for Mr. Ortega. Our interpreter will show up at 7:50 a.m. When the client arrives, we will assist the client in filling out any necessary paperwork and accompany them to see the physician. We will repeat what the physican is saying in Spanish to the client and anything the patient says will be communicated to the doctor in English. As the interpreter, we will not add anything to the message or omit anything. After the appointment, we will work with the clinic to make any follow up calls or to set any follow up appointments. We are with the patient from the beginning of the appointment until the last word is uttered.
Example 2: A restaurant has a staff that is 80% Spanish speaking. There is an orientation for 5 new Spanish speaking employees. We will come to your location 10 minutes before the start of the meeting. We will have a conversation with the organizer of the meeting to be sure we are clear on what type of interpreting will be needed (consecutive or simultaneous), the organization of the meeting, the position of interpreter, and any other specifics that will facilitate a smooth meeting.
Our service will allow you to serve not only English speaking clients, but also Spanish speaking clients as well. When we provide an orientation/training for your employees, you know that your ideas/regulations have been clearly communicated to all of your employees. This way you ensure that each person understands any safety or policy at your establishment.
